LIMONE SUL GARDA

YELLOW TEAM RENT BOAT

Limone sul Garda is one of the most popular tourist resorts on Lake Garda, famous for its lemon groves, its fine olive oil and the longevity of some of its inhabitants. It is located in the northernmost part of the Lombard shore of the Lake and on the border with three regions: Lombardy, Trentino and Veneto. The municipality is about 65 km from Brescia, 50 km from Trento and 90 km from Verona. Limone’s location makes it a little paradise, pampered by mountains that shield it from the wind and mitigate its temperatures. This also facilitates the maneuvers and navigation of those who want to try the experience of riding a speedboat and enjoying the Lake and its villages from exclusive angles.

PLACES OF INTEREST

LIMONAIA DEL CASTEL

Pillars and walls have remained and remain numerous to remember the thriving past of lemons in Limone. Precisely to revive a traditional activity of great historical and cultural interest. The Castèl lemon house, located in the historic center, between the mountain and the Via Orti and Castello, extends over several terraces (còle), three on one side, four on the other compared to the central toll booth (casèl), for a total area of 1633 m2. Its construction dates back to the early eighteenth century.

CHURCH OF SAN ROCCO

Located north of the historic center, the church of San Rocco was built in the first half of the sixteenth century as a thank you to the Limolonese who escaped the contagious plague that struck much of northern Italy in those years. The church was finished over the next two centuries, frescoing the walls and completing the construction of the bell tower. Well inserted in the landscape between the rock, the lake and the lemon groves, it is one of the most beloved places in the country as it is accessed through a characteristic staircase always adorned with flowers and plants typical of Garda, constituting one of the most picturesque and photographed views.

TOURISM MUSEUM

To document the socio-economic change that has affected the country after the opening of Gardesana, the Municipal Administration has promoted the establishment of the "Museum of Tourism". Set up in the headquarters of the former Town Hall and inaugurated in 2011, there are collections of posters, calendars, travel guides, souvenirs, etc. Ample space was also given to our fellow citizen San Daniele Comboni and to the discovery of Apoliprotein A1-Milano, a beneficial genetic mutation that prevents heart attack and cardiovascular diseases, discovered in the blood of some inhabitants of Limone sul Garda.

CASA NATALE DI DANIELE COMBONI

The birthplace of San Daniele Comboni is located in the Limonaia del Tesol, of which the parents of San Daniele were the custodians. Now here lives a community of Comboni Missionaries, committed to welcoming visitors and guests.

You can visit the various places open to the public. In particular, the Birthplace, the Chapel below and the Multimedia Path: in these environments you can dream of San Daniele a little more. In addition to this you can visit the Museum of curiosities and take a beautiful panoramic walk that starts from the garden behind the Birthplace.

SUSPENDED CYCLOPIST

The Garda cycle path is a suggestive route of about 2 km overlooking the Lake on a cycle path inaugurated in 2018 and anchored to the rocks below thanks to cables and steel pylons. A surprising and truly particular work of engineering, which is added to the 4 km of route ranging from the southern part of the village of Limone to Capo Reamol.
The view of the Lake, especially in the last stretch, is really breathtaking, and the feeling is almost to walk directly on the waters of Garda, thanks to the suspended structure that characterizes this illuminated and walkable cycle path even at night.

OLD PORT

The old port of Limone is one of the most characteristic and evocative corners, you can admire the boats between pastel-colored houses and bougainvillea.
